Pumpelly's 2015 Season His Best Yet

ATLANTA, Ga. (Dec. 15, 2015) – Spencer Pumpelly’s 15th season of professional racing was possibly his very best. Competing in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and Pirelli World Challenge, Pumpelly amassed 11 podiums and seven victories.
All of these results came with teams new to Pumpelly and in some cases, new to professional racing. Never the less, he leveraged his knowledge and skill to help Park Place Motorsports, Rennsport One and DWW Motorsports the results they deserved.
"The 2015 season will be memorable for the opportunities I had,” Pumpelly said. “I was able to drive for three great teams with several great teammates and help bring each team to victory lane. The season had several ups and downs but when I look at the seven wins and 11 podiums we were all able to secure, it's hard not to call the season a resounding success."

Pumpelly Wins Petit LeMans

BRASELTON, Ga. (Oct. 5, 2015) – Spencer Pumpelly battled hazardous rain conditions at his home track, Road Atlanta, for the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season finales. In the end, he walked away with an impressive Petit Le Mans victory in GT Daytona with Park Place Motorsports.
For the TUSC field, only its first practice session on Thursday morning was held on a dry track. From there on out, teams were faced with varying degrees of rain. Though the series is prepared to compete in wet conditions, the 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course became completely saturated and at times was plagued with dangerous puddles and rivers.

“It started with a great stint from Luis Rodriguez Jr.,” Pumpelly said. “He had a really good start and made some aggressive moves to gain position. He stayed within sight of the leaders throughout his stint. Read more...

Pumpelly Scores First Win at VIR

ALTON, Va. (Aug. 24, 2015) – Spencer Pumpelly, a Virginia native, finally scored his first career win at VIRginia International Raceway. Pumpelly was victorious in Saturday’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge win, but was unable to repeat the performance in Sunday’s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race.
In CTSC, Pumpelly’s Rennsport One teammate, Luis Rodriguez Jr., qualified the No. 17 RS1 Porsche Cayman 10th on the ST grid in a qualifying session with limited green time. Pumpelly knew the starting spot was not representative of the car, nor his teammate’s speed, since Rodriguez Jr. was blocked on his best qualifying lap.
