Coaching

Coaching

Spencer Pumpelly has been providing coaching to all types of drivers for over 11 years.
Weather you want to learn a new track or you need to find a couple extra tenths to run
at the front of your race group Spencer’s experience can help you meet your goals.
Coaching is often the most cost effective way to get your lap times down and it helps
you hit the track with confidence in both your technique and equipment.

A day will typically start with a drive around the track in a street vehicle if allowed or a
detailed review of the track map and video. Then if the rules of the day permit Spencer
will drive the car briefly to establish that the car is working properly as well as to gather
video and set a data lap. Next the driver will run the car and get a feel for the car and
track, followed by a detailed analysis of the session using both the video and data.
Areas of concern will be identified and then Spencer will set goals for the next session.
This process will repeat itself throughout the day and all the while Spencer will be there
to share the experience and offer guidance. If a race is involved Spencer will also call
strategy if needed.

Prices are $1500.00/day plus reasonable travel expenses and can be split by as many
as 5 drivers although the level of personal attention may not be as high with a larger
group. Discounts are available for multi day events over 2 days. Availability is based
on other racing commitments with early week events being the best. Spencer will not
ride as a passenger in any vehicle while coaching. All the equipment such as video and
data can be provided for an additional fee but Spencer recommends a fully functioning
MoTeC system with integrated video be installed and tested in each car. Events where
open passing is allowed and the other drivers are of a similar experience level work
best.
